Preserving Technology - Conservation Services
Thomas A. Troszak, Conservator

Specializing in the conservation, restoration, and long term preservation of technological artifacts of all descriptions.

I offer consulting services; object, collection and site surveys, and conservation treatment proposals.

I have more than two decades of hands-on experience with repairing and maintaining operational machinery, steam locomotives and mills. As millwright, machinist, or boilermaker, I have the experience and ability to make sure that your historic machinery will operate safely and efficiently.

As conservator, I network with other conservators and museum professionals to stay abreast of relevant developments in conservation science technique.

Since I am an independent conservator, my ethics and dedication to the preservation of historic machinery are untainted by politics or institutional bias. Please take a moment and visit selected projects from my my portfolio of past work, and read my personal philosophy of long-term preservation which I refer to as the management of decay.

I travel the world over to advise and lecture on the preservation of historic machinery, please contact me if you think that my experience can be beneficial to you, your collection, or institution.
